Artemis is proud to introduce our high-precision Coefficient of Friction (COF) Tester, a critical instrument for the flexible packaging and coatings industries. Engineered to meet ASTM D1894 and ISO 8295 international standards, this system provides essential data on the "slip" and frictional properties of polymer films, foils, paper, and textiles.
Understanding these surface interactions is vital for optimizing production line speeds and ensuring the performance of base materials and specialized coatings.

Multi-Material Characterization: This horizontal flat-bed instrument is ideal for R&D and QA/QC validation across a diverse range of materials, including rubber, laminates, and boards.

Refined Control Suite: Featuring a 7” touchscreen interface, the system allows for the precise configuration of test velocity, travel distance, sled weight, and dwell time.

Integrated Thermal Testing: An optional heated bed allows for the evaluation of frictional properties at elevated temperatures, while a vacuum bed option ensures specimens remain perfectly flat during analysis.

Expandable Functionality: Beyond standard friction testing, the apparatus can be configured with specific attachments for 90° and 180° peel testing of pressure-sensitive tapes and laminates.
Automated Microprocessor Analysis
The system utilizes an advanced on-board microprocessor to deliver highly repeatable results for both Static and Dynamic (Kinetic) coefficients:

Static Friction Acquisition: The load cell continuously monitors output signals to capture the precise peak value at the moment movement initiates.

Dynamic (Kinetic) Evaluation: Following the static peak, the system measures sliding friction over a pre-selected distance, providing an accurate average of the recorded data.

Real-Time Data Visualization: Results are displayed graphically on the interface, allowing for "multi-slicing" analysis. This enables operators to inspect variations across the travel distance without the need for physical sample cutting.

LABLogic+ Compatibility: All test results can be exported via Ethernet, USB, or direct flash drive download to our proprietary LABLogic+ software for comprehensive reporting and statistical analysis.

Internal QA/QC Guardrails: Users can input high/low limit values for instant pass/fail assessment, with stored parameters available for rapid test recall.
